8 Ways to encourage Young people to Save

1.        If you feel that the weekly allowance your parents are giving you does not seem to be enough, then nobody has to tell you about inflation. You’re actually experiencing it. You know the problem of stretching each peso as possible


 2. When you spend more that you earn, or receive, you help contribute to inflation. When you buy more food than you eat, you help raise prices. So one way students can help beat inflation is by spending less and saving or investing more.


 3.  Saving begins with wise spending. Nobody can tell you how to use our money wisely, whether it’s a quarter or a hundred pesos. What might be wise for one person might be unwise for another. But there are certain rules which can help you get the most for your money.


4. One such rule is to practice comparison buying. If you’re going shopping for something, don’t just walk into a store and buy what you want at whatever price they’re asking for it. Check out the same item in another store and see which the better way is.


5.  You must likewise avoid “impulse buying”, walking into the store and plunking your money down on the spur of the moment. Decide what you want first. Plan what to buy, and buy only what you really need. Make sure the quality meets your needs. Be selective. After all, it’s your money.


6. Learning how to understand newspaper, magazine, TV and radio advertisements can also save your money. Items “On Sale” may not always be good buys.


7.  Stores use the word SALE a lot now because of inflation. They feel it attracts customers. A Sale item may be worth the price it’s selling at, but it may never have been worth the price the stores say it used to sell for.


8. Finally, you should take advantage of consumer education courses now being offered or to be offered in some of our schools. Such courses teach you how to spend your money wisely. They teach about proper use of credit card and how to make you’re really getting what you pay for. There are also magazines which give consumers comparative buying and testing information.

How can a young people, burdened with such demands, save anything?

First, he must discover where his money is going. To do this, he must keep a record.  In the beginning, the record must be itemized to the last centavo. Yes, it’s boring. But after two months of writing down everything in the notebook, he’ll have a clear picture of where his coins are dropping. He will have a habit…a habit to become rich.

Remember, money – even in small amounts, gives freedom to do something on your own. It is your tiny edge against poverty; the edge that can grow in strength and sharpness to an instrument for carving out a solid financial future.

“Annebisyosa” Nothing is Impossible for Anne Curtis

Actress Anne Curtis can't believe her first major solo concert is really happening in less than two weeks.

In her official Twitter account, Curtis said the thought that she is actually holding a concert is just finally sinking in.

“Im actually having a concert at the Smart Araneta! Who would have thought?! Kaya ko ba to? #AnnebisyosaWORLDTOUR,” she said.

“10 days to go till my concert! OMG. This is really really happening! #ANNEBISOYSAWorldTour There's no backing out now,” she added.

Curtis started rehearsing for her concert since late December.

Titled "No Other Concert," Curtis will take on the Big Dome on January 28.

PERO KAY ANNE CURTIS...NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Everybody has a dream, even me, I've always wanted to be a super model when I was a kid. It seems that Ms. Anne Curtis is really UNSTOPPABLE, which makes me more proud of her. All of us, at some point in our lives, have had dreams of being somebody special, someone who achieved great things. We all had dreams of being rich and famous, successful and happy. 

Unfortunately only very few amongst us have made those dreams come true. Most of the time our dreams have remained just that – dreams. But for Anne Curtis, nothing is impossible!




In stead of going through the excitement of achieving what we dreamt about we relapse into our day to day life and in stead of really living a full life we choose to be non existent and we prefer to live a life of survival. 

Life can be so much more, though, if only we would be prepared to go for a little more. However most of us prefer to think: I’ll never be able to do that. It’s too difficult. It’s impossible, because………. And we have a list of reasons for it. If you feel a deep passion for something and you create focus, commitment and perseverance, anything can be accomplished and your so called “impossible” dream can become very real indeed.

Under the standing Department of Labor and Employment pay rules, if an employee is not working on regular holidays, he or she is still entitled to 100 percent of his or her regular daily rate, “provided he or she was present, or was on leave with pay on the workday immediately preceding the holiday.”

Meanwhile, if an employee works on a regular holiday that also falls on his or her rest day, he or she is entitled to 200 percent of the daily rate for the first eight hours and an additional 30 percent for additional hours.

On special non-working days, the following shall apply:

"a. If the day is unworked, the "no work, no pay" principle shall apply unless there is a favorable company policy, practice or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment on a special day even if the day is unworked.

b. If worked, the employee shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the daily rate of 100 percent on the first eight hours of work. In excess of eight hours, he/she shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate on said day.

c. If the day falls on the employee's rest day and is worked, he/she shall be paid an additional 50 percent of the daily rate of 100 percent on the first eight hours of work. In excess of eight hours, he/she shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate."

The components for the gasoline and diesel fuel pumps are calculated in the following manner in cents per gallon and then converted into a percentage:

Crude Oil - the monthly average of the composite refiner acquisition cost, which is the average price of crude oil purchased by refiners.

Refining Costs + Profits - the difference between the monthly average of the spot price of gasoline or diesel fuel (used as a proxy for the value of gasoline or diesel fuel as it exits the refinery) and the average price of crude oil purchased by refiners (the crude oil component).

Distribution + Marketing Costs + Profits - the difference between the average retail price of gasoline or diesel fuel as computed from EIA's weekly survey and the sum of the other 3 components.

Taxes - a monthly national average of federal and state taxes applied to gasoline or diesel fuel.

Big catastrophes, like the typhoon Sendong, change fuel making and eventually 
affect the fee of gas. Catastrophes do not have to be on such a huge scale to cause a change. A typhoon or storm that slows down deliveries can cause a city expense rise.

Some factors that affect the expense of gas are historical concerns that keep companies from drilling in some places, political tactics, varies in the price of distribution and tax increases directly on oil making and refining companies.

Many of these things fluctuate often and in turn, vary gas prices to fluctuate.

How To Help You Plan the Ultimate Goal this 2012

Thinking positively in everyday life will also help in your growth as a human being. Don’t limit it to goal setting. Here are some of the things you need to think of. Hope this helps.

It’s not the number that’s important, but that you create a plan to attain it.

2. Different job or profession.

If a career seeker is one of a growing number of workers who are seeking more meaning in their work, and would rather get paid less if it means he or she can make a greater impact on their community or the environment, they may struggle to see the justification in pursuing higher income. It may seem shallow to put emphasis on accumulating wealth. The more money an individual can earn, the more impact they'll be able to have -- now, and later in life.

3. Additional Schooling.

Continuing education includes formal and informal training. Workers may earn college degrees through formal programs, concentrate on professional development courses aimed at personal enrichment in informal surroundings, or participate in programs that include both formal and informal elements. Generally, continuing education refers to classes and seminars that focus on job-related skills and knowledge.

4. a new house, car or gadget.

Work for what you want, not for what you want to leave behind. Part of the reason why we write down and examine our goals is to create a set of instructions for our subconscious mind to carry out. Your subconscious mind is a very efficient tool, it cannot determine right from wrong and it does not judge. It’s only function is to carry out its instructions. The more positive instructions you give it, the more positive results you will get.

Travel can be a time and resource intensive activity. There are many things that can go wrong, and often do, but careful planning, prioritizing and goal setting can reduce the number and severity of most problems that may creep into your travel experiences. Learning how to set and prioritize your travel goals will take you a long way towards creating travel plans that will fit into your life and are more likely to bring you wonderful memories.

I believe the goal is the same as it's always been -- it's never changed, it never will -- and it's simple: to prepare a child to move from childhood to adulthood. That's it. Prepare my child for adulthood. Period.

The quality and the length of your life is vastly influenced by how you live. If you stuff your face with junk food at every meal, you will probably live a shortened, lower quality life. Lots of doctor visits, medications and problems. Conversely, if you live like a health nut, you will probably live a high quality life with lots of energy and optimism. 

11. Acquire leadership position in the community.

I believe being a leader is about your experiences and all the trials and tribulations that you have to go through to become a leader. Everything that happens to you in you business, whether it’s good or bad, gives you experience. How you process those experiences will either make you a follower or a leader. 

12. Develop and exploit specific creative talents; art, music, literary abilities, etc.

When you get towards the end of your life, it is important to be able to look back and know you did everything you wanted to do and you have no regrets. Success in life can be measured in any way, not necessarily just the amount of money you have made. However, if you can live your passion, and work towards something you are extremely passionate about, it is most likely that you will make money (despite yourself!).
