There is nothing wrong with being likable and accommodating,
but it should never keep you from going after your dreams. Most often, we come
across a situation wherein we either choose to stand up and win or stand back
so that others may like us more. Sadly, most Pinoys choose the latter. It is not because Pinoys are not capable of
winning, but rather, majority of Pinoys care about what other people thinks
than what would make themselves happy.
Here is a fact that you should remember: 5, 10, 20 years
from now, you will regret more about the things you never did that the things
you’ve done. If you always give way, you will never have what you want. Develop
your urge to win by focusing on what would make you happy. This is not to step
over others; this is about learning to fight for your dreams.
According to Bill Cosby “I do not know the key to success,
but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.”
Developing a winning attitude is essential. It may be
difficult to do at first but it sure is worth it. Believe that you are a winner
and you will be. Never settle for just being average. Do not be afraid to try
something new. Experience life to the fullest and do your best in everything
that you do. Being a winner means having the courage to stand up for what you
believe in.
More so, I believe that one of the best Pinoys traits is
their ability to laugh at every obstacle or problem they encounter. Use this
strength and for sure, you will be able to release the winner inside you.
Life is a battle. Whether we like it or not, we must fight.
Wouldn’t it be better if we end up as winners?
